Laurie and Gary Holmes grew up in Durban, surfing South Africa’s

East Coast and soaking up beach life. At just 14, Laurie started

shaping his own boards in the family garage, leading to the creation

of the Holmes logo and a brand that blends surf culture with

local craftsmanship.

 

For the past five years, Sector Group has overseen The

Holmes Brothers’ online, marketing, and wholesale

operations nationwide.

 

The brand emphasises sustainability, with store interiors made

from reclaimed wood, shopping bags from recycled materials, and

a product range largely made in South Africa. Holmes Brothers

balances local design heritage with international quality,

creating authentic, trend-conscious surf apparel.
